You can make people do many things, but you cannot make them go deeper in a relationship with you. No matter how hard you try, you cannot force someone to be intimate in your relationship. The Bible portrays God similarly as someone who loves His people, and desperately desires a deeper relationship, but continually gets stiff-armed and put at a distance. Listen as Pastor Mike uses the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10 to show us how Jesus desires to be more than just "polite but distant" in our lives. He desires us to sit at His feet and be changed forever.

Chris Irwin wraps up our Broken Series by speaking of broken dreams. Today's circumstances can make many of us feel as if we have never realized our dreams in life. We wonder if God is ever going to come through for us and bless us with the spectacular. But the Bible says that our dreams are secondary to the Big Story of God. More often than not it's because we don't understand God's Financial Principles. Look at 2 Cor. 9 with us and find that the key to being healthy financially, is to be a healthy giver.

Pastor Jeff continued in our Broken Series by taking us through the story of Jacob to show us sometimes we resist the road God has for us. We want the transformation that he has for us, but not the transportation God uses to get us there.
So, like Jacob, we take our own road at times, and suffer the hard consequences.
God allows this, and even uses these hard times in our lives because He cares more about our holiness than our happiness. Like Jacob, it's through brokenness that we come to the end of ourselves, and the beginning of God.

Pastor Mike brings the first of our Broken series by studying Naomi from Ruth ch. 1. All of us will at one time be in a broken place. It's in those times we need to ask ourselves 2 questions: "What am I doing?" and "What is God doing?" We need to know first of all how we got to the place of being broken. And we need to understand what God has for us to learn while there! God surely desires to use this time for our good, and for His glory!

Pastor Jeff teaches from Matthew 28:19-20, and Acts 17:16-20. We have a mission as the Church, and as Christians to take the message of hope and peace from our Comfortable Spaces (the church on Sunday) to the Common Spaces (the marketplace, Starbuck's, our work place) and even into the outer Spaces (neighbor's homes). Paul was comfortable speaking about God in the Common Space with the hope he might get invited into the homes and places of the seeker, where the message of God changes lives. Our prayer - is that we unite and take the message of Jesus' to them, and not wait for them to come to us!

In this 3rd message of the series, Pastor Jeff helps us understand how to find God's will by using His Compass, the Bible. He's given us principles for life that can guide and direct us through most of life's situations...but we need to read it.

Using 1 Kings 12, Pastor Mike shows us one of the main tools God gives us to finding His Personal Will for our lives...each other. God often speaks through the wise counsel of godly believers. The more we learn to include others into our decision-making process, the clearer our paths become.
